Michel Desjoyeaux, the greatest winner of solitary open sea sailing races, just won for the second time the Vendée Globe, the Everest for sailing, a performance that nobody did before.
Even if this 2008/2009 edition was remorseless, two thirds of the fleet were decimated by the Atlantic ocean and Southern seas. Desjoyaux, in spite of two days delay because of technical problems when starting, caught up other competitors and became the first after one month. He arrived, at Sables d’Olonnes, six days in advance on the second competitor. What can explain such a performance and how “Mich’Desj’” experienced and achieved it ? One month after his victorious arrival at Sables d’Olonnes, the skipper gives a commentary on images made on board with his camera.
