Dancer and choreographer born in South Africa in Soweto. Dada Masilo, uncompromising, break structures of classical ballet and reinvents them in her way.
In 2013, she recreate Swan Lake, between the frantic rhythms of the African tribal dance and classical dance movements. Sometimes with vivacity, sometimes with melancholy, Dada Masilo addresses issues close to her heart as sexism, homophobia and racism. This year at the Biennale de la danse, her enthusiasm transcends Roland Petit’s Carmen where she played a heroine with an impressive eroticism.
