Every once in a while, the Ecole Nationale d’Equitation – National School of Equitation – offers the public access to discover its means and its actions towards the sport of equitation and its heritage. The “Cadre Noir” of Saumur is the teaching body of this school placed under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The presentations of the Cadre Noir of Saumur are part of France’s living heritage and they showcase its brilliance outside the frontiers.
The yearly spectacle aims to present the difficulties of academic equitation and the spectacular figures in a harmonious scenography, highlighted by subtle lighting which accentuate the horse rider’s work and the choice of the musical accompaniment.
The original concept blending music and equestrian art in the Musicals of the Cadre Noir of Saumur this year will bring together riders of the Cadre Noir and their horses, with the Instrumental Ensemble of Paris, directed by Christian Ciuca.
